As the results show, all four devices will help you survive the crash to some extent.

  • The Leatt Brace performed the worst in both the 'Straight On' crash and in the 30 degree crash.
  • The Hans device varied in its effectiveness, however it's typical results in a straight-on crash produced 382 pounds of neck tension. In a 30 degree side-on crash, however, its effectiveness dropped and the neck tension went up.
  • Both the Hutchens Hybrid and the Hybrid Pro performed very well in both tests, keeping neck tension low; their effectiveness also improved in side-on crashes.
